Club Business

Last call for anyone who wants to attend the Kimbolton Country Fayre & Classic Car Show on the 14th July on our club stand – we have to have our stand requirements in tomorrow. You can still attend if your undecided but if your not on the list you will be parked in the general cars area.

Wednesday Wanderers Report

Report of Wednesday wanderings: 

“This month we had a low-key outing as it was so near to our holiday to Wales.  Eight members took the short drive to Tring Garden Centre and enjoyed a very leisurely lunch in the restaurant.  We then had a wander around the Centre including the new clothing and shoes section.  As it was rather chilly, we gave up the idea of a walk round College Lake and made our separate ways home.”

The Next Club Events

The Kimber Run is on Saturday the 11th May and / or the Stoke Goldington show on  Sunday the 12th May, both are not club events and do not have a stand or meeting point but a few members have said they are attending.

Classics at the Compasses (in Greenfield) is on Wednesday 15th May at 6:00pm, free entry – for those wanting to go in convoy please meet at the usual Streatley meeting point at 5:45pm

Please note: I have been advised that the Classics at the Plough (Thursdays at Kings Walden) is now cancelled until further notice

Chiltern Hill Rally is on Sunday 19th May – Club Stand place via the on-line ticket booking system – entries will close on the 12th of May. The meeting point is in the Greggs car park just before Dunstable – LU5 4LW at 8:00am, to arrive around 8:45am at the show to try and miss the 9am onwards crush and queues.

Pub Night

Events coming up

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow, however the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book on-line with various options employed for the club stand, examples are:- Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton . Some shows are turn up only and a few are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.

MGOC Kimber Run – Sat 11th May

  £32 per car of 2 people (additional passengers £6) – Welcome Hot Drink and Breakfast Roll, route book @ Rally board, parking and entry to the Shuttleworth Collection & the Swiss Gardens are included.

Chiltern Hills Rally is on the 19th May

There is a new club attendance process and Tickets are £10 for the Driver and one passenger, you need a Club Ticket please enter ‘Luton & Dunstable MGOC’ as the NAME OF CAR CLUB YOU WANT TO BE PART OF then advise me you have purchased your ticket so I can add you to my list of attendees. Note: Ticket Booking system closes on the 12th May for club stand tickets

The New Forrest Run – 2nd June

 This run starts at East Bolder SO42 7WD and will be attended by members from our club. If anyone else is interested in attending it is £25 per car plus an optional £9:50 per person for cream tea at the finish www.1009mg.org.uk Members will be staying at the South Lawn Country House Hotel if you also want to stay over night.

Dunstable Classic Motor Rally – 8th June 10:00am to 4:00pm. Last call for anyone else wanting to be added to the club application form, which I will send off tomorrow.

The 33rd Luton Someries Festival of Transport on the 9th June – Those willing to marshal / Judge can get free entry – Have you registered yet?

Houghton Hall Park – Classics in the Park 2024 on the 23rd June Tickets are available HERE and entry fee is £5 per vehicle and there are trophies for winners of each category and rosettes for runners up. Vehicles must be in before 9:30am – no club stand as cars are parked in their category areas. I will issue a meeting point and time at the next meeting for those wanting to attend.

Kimbolton Country Fayre & Classic Car Show is on the 17th July, we have a club stand booked but please book a ticket using CODE KCFCCS24  here
