Sunday 16th of July the Club left in a convoy from Luton to Kimbolton Castle for the Classic Car Show.
The castle was a wooden motte and bailey castle in Norman times and later the final home of King Henry VIII’s first wife, Katharine of Aragon.
The journey to the site was swift through some lovely driving roads and thankfully a long convoy of club cars made it to the site without any drama.
We were greeted at our parking space by a large turnout of MG’s from other clubs, which filled an area close to the Castle.
The Show had a number of great stalls, selling everything from classic Haynes Manuals and driving memorabilia to artisan flavoured Spirts and high quality Cider.
Many other clubs attended, along with a great turn out of classic and modern Jaguars, BL Mini’s and some beautiful VW campers, there were line up’s of Healey’s and some great 70’s and 80’s Fords.
A selection of classic American muscle cars and probably the largest number of wonderful P1800 Volvo’s seen in recent times just added to the eclectic mix of beautiful cars.
A Spot of Lunch at Pimm’s O’Clock.
The weather looked a little overcast when we arrived, the sun made a few visits before the rain fell, just as we were preparing to pack up and leave.
Even the rain couldn’t take the shine off a great day that everyone seemed to enjoy.
It was possibly one of the largest turn outs for the club so far this year, with a fantastic mix of cars both older and modern MG’s for the public to see.
