LUTON AND DUNSTABLE MGOC NEWS LETTER December 2024

Welcome to the 3rd of December Luton & Dunstable MGOC Newsletter

Club Business:

Let’s try a pub night meeting on December 15th. The King William 4th in Mango Green is
usually less crowded on a Tuesday.

If they have a Christmas event, it will be on the mezzanine, so we should get a seat in the bar area.

NOTE: January’s meeting will be on the Tuesday the 7th of January 2025.

The club’s best wishes and get well soon were sent to Patrick, who had an operation and is
recovering well.

He should be out of the hospital soon.

We need to plan a Club group picture for our 40th anniversary next year. Any suggestions for
locations?

And the Wednesday Wanderers the year after, as it’s the 10th anniversary.

We’ll be collecting Christmas card donations this meeting and at the Christmas meal.

So please donate the money you would have spent to our designated charity.

See Janet to donate, the money will go to the Keech Hospice.

Wednesday Wanderers Report:

Report of Wednesday Wanderings: Wednesday Wanderers Christmas Meal.

We all had a fantastic time at the Five Bells. The food was delicious, and the banter was
lively.

There was a lot of chatting and laughter going on.

We wished Ron and Jen the best as they move away and presented a group photo of the club members from the last meeting.

We wanted to make sure they wouldn’t forget us when we all turn up on their new doorstep!

The next Wednesday Wanderings will be: TBC.

The Next Club Events:

We’ve transitioned into our more social calendar now that the car show season is over.

Christmas:

The main Club Christmas Meal is on Saturday, December 14th. Please check
out Janet’s recent email for details. Those still needing to pay Janet will be contacted by
Janet.

Pub Night:

will be on Tuesday 15th December (around 20:30 or earlier if dining) at the King William 4th, Mangrove Green, Cockernhoe, Luton, LU2 8QE. Tel. 01582 728086

Events coming up:

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows permit it. However, the recent trend is for
organisers to only allow individuals to book online with various options for the club stand option.
For instance, the club name for the Chiltern Hills Rally is “Club Name,” and a club code is issued
for Kimbolton. Some shows are turn-up only, while a few are display by age. We will do our best to
inform you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance, where possible.
