Welcome to the 3rd of September Luton & Dunstable MGOC Newsletter..
Club Business:
At the Knebworth Show we where one of the best top 5 Club Stands on Sunday out of 16
Stands, we also picked up 2 Trophies and a new paid up member who joined at the Show, he
must have been impressed by the turn out and friendly greetings.
Pulloxhill:
A big thank you to those who helped out at Pulloxhill on the working party day and those
who marshalled on the show day.
I think it went exceptionally well and hope we have retained the title of friendliest show.
A few minor tweaks for next year are planned.

The next planned event is….to be confirmed..
The Next Club Events:
September is probably our last full month for shows subject to the weather.
We had the small car meet at the Red Lion in Upper Sundon, great weather for what is an easy going old
school classic car meet.
The pub put on breakfast rolls, very reasonably priced and delicious plus the added bonus of indoor plumbing!
The next big show is at Croydon (Cambs) on Sunday the 8th – we also have the A602’s show
in Stevenage the same day.
Those meeting for Croydon, its at the Streatley Lay-By leaving at 10:00am. This is a pre
register event but if anyone else wants to join us I don’t envisage it will be an issue as long as
you convoy down with us – its a pay on the gate (£2pp so bring change) and its a turn up
together – park together event.
Those wanting to attend the A602’s show will need to collect the Gazebo and Flag (we wont
be taking it to Croydon).
Them we have the main event of the month which is the 2 day club stand (21/22nd) at Sywell
Pistons and Props, this one will need a bit more organisation, especially for the club stand
gear which will need taking to the show on Saturday putting up and then taking down and
bringing home on Sunday (2 volunteers please).
Finally I have been informed that the Wednesday Classic car meeting at the Plough – Kings
Waldon will be re-started on Wednesday the 25th September – this is a turn up from 6pm free
event – no details on food etc.
I expect the village, who now own the pub are trying this out to see if it’s an event they want to host regularly next year.
Pub Night:
Pub Night will be on Tuesday 17th September (around 20:30 or earlier if dining) at the Ego
at the Flying Fox, Woburn, MK17 9HD Tel. 01525 290444
Events coming up:
Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow, however the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book on-line with various options employed for the club stand option, examples are:- Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton .
Some shows are turn up only and a few are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.
Croydon (Cambs) – This show is on Sunday the 8th September and is pre-registering,
however I don’t envisage any issues if you want to join the convoy there as we will be
parking together if we turn up together! It’s £2pp on the gate and open to the public at
noon.
A602’s Stevenage on Sunday the 8th September – Is anyone going to this show and if yes,
contact me for access to the (good) Gazebo and flags etc.
Sywell Pistons and Props on the 21/22 September. We have a Club Stand booked with 5 cars
registered on Saturday and 6 cars registered on Sunday – we will need a meeting to see who
can take the gazebo to the show and who can return it, as well was sorting out meeting
points and times etc. Those who paid a deposit will need to pay the final amount at this
meeting please.

Re opened Plough at Kings Waldon classic car meet – Wednesday 25th September
