Our 1st Classic car show of the year was to the Pitstone Museum’s open day on Bank Holiday Monday. We had 16 club members in attendance and 10 cars. A seven car convoy left from Greggs car park opposite Lidl as the coffee was nearer and we now have an open invite to use their car park as a starting point for future events.

We all got to the site without incident, however the support vehicle did not handle the soft grass and had to park at the back of the museum. The oldest (car?) also dug a hole so David being David parked where he stopped – but that was fine as other cars lined up with him – so all was good.

Lots to see and do at the open air museum and in the barns and sheds. with a range of exhibits from local history to computers, a ham radio demonstration to secondhand and crafts stalls. The weather was on our side – warm for this time of year and not a drop of rain despite what the weather apps and forecasts were saying.

Then after lunch 2 stream engines arrived and parked up, a great sight and smell!
